What we're looking for

Kiwi Tennis is the largest tennis coaching provider in New Zealand. We currently manage the coaching programs in over 18 clubs and 50 schools across the Auckland and Waikato regions. Throughout the year we coach thousands of children and adults of varying ages and abilities, from the complete beginner through to high performance national players.

We are always looking for great new coaches or administrators to join our awesome team, so if you are; a student looking for a work placement; a qualified tennis coach wanting to work in New Zealand for a year or two; a career tennis coach wanting to head up your own club program; or an experienced sports administrator, we are always on the look out for people that have the following skills:

Fluent in written and spoken english
Proactive and highly organized
Have great communication skills
Team player and works well within team environment
Outgoing and dynamic personality that can relate well with others
Strong tennis playing / coaching / administration background
Possess relevant qualifications in your field

Kiwi Tennis Internships

What you'll do

Candidates will be required to work alongside our experienced coaches on court and will assist them in all of our club, school and holiday coaching programs. They may also be asked to help in managing these programs off-court with our administration team. The successful candidate will also be required to work in one of our Pro Shops, learning the processes and systems involved in running a successful retail store.

We are looking for people with a willingness to learn, and a strong work ethic. Previous experience in coaching is not essential, but a passion for tennis is a must. A uniform, balls and other tennis equipment will be provided at no cost to the coach. We do not however provide any travel expenses, although it is very unlikely that apprentices will be asked to drive long distances. Each candidate will also be encouraged to undertake the relevant Tennis New Zealand coaching qualifications.

Candidates will be contracted for 10-30 hours pw, based on their experience level and qualifications. Candidates will be asked to work 6 days a week, and note that weekends tend to be the busiest time for a coach. No time off will also be given during school term time.
