ANNA RUEPERT

Director of Operations

I first started playing tennis at the age of 3 in my hometown of Sydney, Australia, and remember watching through the cross-hatched wire fence while my parents played every Sunday. Relegated to the brick wall to hit, I practised relentlessly – chasing balls over the wall 9 times out of 10, until I was allowed to play with the adults.

Cricket took my focus off tennis in my teen years, and after I finished high school in Sydney, I studied Hospitality Management and this took me into the world of customer service, operations and marketing. Working for one of the world’s largest hotel chains exposed me to a variety of cultures, operations and customers and after working front of house in food and beverage, reception and functions I moved into “back of house” where I’ve been ever since. Managing Sales & Marketing for the economy division of a global hotel chain in Australia and New Zealand brought me on my first trip to Auckland – somewhere I knew I’d always return.

After starting a family, my husband’s work took us overseas, and 4 expat postings later Auckland became home. Throughout my time overseas I resumed playing tennis – and rekindled my love for the sport, so much so I chose tennis for a career over the world of hotels. Spending 2.5 years at Next Gen exposed me to the world of competitive tennis in Auckland and I’m proud to have made huge inroads at the club, winning both Event of the Year and Senior Club of the Year in the 2016/17 season.

My move to Kiwi Tennis as Operations Manager involves running the behind the scenes in the office but hopefully I’ll get back out on the courts soon! I moved to Kiwi Tennis as Operations Manager in 2018, and came on board as a Director in March 2019.

Outside of tennis I have a passion for supporting the flailing Wallabies rugby team – with rugby running thick in my blood. A passionate foodie, I spend much of my weekends in the kitchen cooking for the 3 males in the household!

I look forward to meeting you all soon.
