Head of Performance

Neil’s experience is extensive, having spent 14 years as Regional Coach in the Southern Region, with Tennis New Zealand, building a strong, unified relationship with clubs and associations.

He later took up a coaching position at Sutton Tennis Academy in the UK, heading the Juniors and Women’s programme, leading to a position as Tennis Director, overseeing Development,  Wheelchair Tennis, Adults and High Performance. After returning to New Zealand Neil worked with Dwayne Cleugh at Sparta Tennis, while also being appointed the 2018 New Zealand Fed Cup Captain, and is now Owner and Director of Carter Tennis, based at West End Lawn Tennis Club and Saint Kentigern College.  Neil also coaches Erin Routliffe, NZ’s highest ranked female tennis player in the WTA.

With over 35 years of tennis playing and coaching experience, at all levels, both in New Zealand and overseas, Neil joins Kiwi Tennis as Head of Performance.
